Welcome to our New 2026-2027 Leadership
The Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier's demotion party is a lighthearted annual tradition where we "demote" our outgoing president to past president with friendly roasting, dinner, and the passing of the gavel to the incoming club president.
This year, we gathered at The Club at Prescott Lakes on June 30 to demote our outgoing President Linda Sweeney, a former teacher, whom we ceremoniously "graduated" from her role and presented with a cap and gown, an oversized diploma, and a basket of apples, while the traditional "Pomp and Circumstance" song played. Joe Sweeney, District 5495 Governor for the 2026-2027 Rotary year, and Linda's husband, then read aloud many notes of gratitude from club members for her leadership. Linda expressed thanks to her Board of Directors and shared a recap of her time at the helm.
The event concluded with Joe presenting incoming President Donna Jacobs with a personalized, oversized top hat, and inducting her incoming Board of Directors. These include: President Elect, Linda Mast; Secretary, Mike Hannan; Treasurer, Katheryn Tuberty; Club Administration, Duane Robinson; Public Image, Lisa Doherty; Past President and Membership, Linda Sweeney; Rotary International Foundation, Rex Townsend; Youth Services, Linda Crogan; and Service Projects, Wendi Lancy.

Welcome to the new 2026-27 Rotary Year! There is excitement in the air as we look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary Grapes 4 Good (G4G) fundraiser hosted by the Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier on Sunday, September 20, 5-8 p.m. at Watter’s Garden Center. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community and the four Prescott and Prescott Valley Rotary Clubs to come together to show their support through volunteering at the event, contributing sponsorships and donations, and G4G attendance. As a result of the annual G4G fundraising events, the Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier has been able to provide $500,000+ in support of our local community and international needs since 2006!
Sustainability and membership growth are key to accomplishing the Club’s priority goals. Rotary embraces a 3-year Strategic Plan to maintain momentum and achieve key priority goals, while challenging new leadership to “raise the bar.” At the Annual President’s Induction ceremony on June 30th, I shared some of the key goals for the Club:
Grow membership by 20%, including Corporate Memberships
Meet or exceed annual membership contributions to the Rotary Foundation ($10,000) and Polio Plus ($4,500)
Re-establish a Rotaract Club at Yavapai College, working with Youth
Sustain and Grow Media and Public Relations
Sustain and Grow Service Projects, working collaboratively with our fellow Rotary Clubs, focusing on projects that demonstrate our commitment to this year’s theme: “Create Lasting Impact”
Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention (One of Rotary’s 7 Areas of Focus)

Service That Strengthens our Community
Every Rotary year brings new opportunities to serve, and last year was no exception.
From supporting students and teachers to honoring Gold Star Moms, assisting seniors, caring for families in need, and improving the places we all enjoy, Prescott-Frontier Rotary members and community volunteers rolled up their sleeves to make a lasting difference.
During the 2025–2026 Rotary year, our club completed 32 service projects, contributing more than 4,286 volunteer hours through the efforts of 474 volunteers—including 388 Rotarians and 86 community volunteers. Together, we collected 1,965 essential items and generated more than $64,800 through fundraising events that directly support programs and organizations serving our community.
Some of our greatest impact cannot be measured by dollars or hours alone. This year, we reached 516 students, supported 210 teachers, recognized 12 Gold Star Moms, connected with 55 seniors, helped stock the Community Cupboard that serves more than 50,000 neighbors, and removed 1.3 tons of trash during the Granite Creek Clean Up to help preserve our local trails.
None of this happens without people who choose to give their time, talents, and hearts to others. Our members, community volunteers, sponsors, and nonprofit partners all play an important role in creating positive change throughout Prescott and the surrounding communities.
Whether we are packing birthday bags, collecting pet food, organizing fundraisers, mentoring youth, or lending a hand wherever it is needed, every project reflects a simple belief: small acts of service, multiplied by many people, create extraordinary results.

Prescott-Frontier Rotary Club Helps Collect More Than 23,000 Pounds of Food for Local Families
On Saturday, June 13, members of the Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier joined fellow Rotarians and community volunteers at the Yavapai Food Neighbors ProjectGreen Bag program held in the Prescott High School parking lot. Working together to help fight hunger in Yavapai County, volunteers collected an incredible 23,085 pounds of food that will benefit local families in need.
Prescott Frontier Rotary members proudly staffed the Community Cupboard Food Bank collection station, where they welcomed donors, unloaded vehicles, sorted food donations, and thanked the many generous community members who contributed. The event was a wonderful example of neighbors helping neighbors and demonstrated the power of service above self.
The success of the food drive was made possible through the combined efforts of Rotarians, non-Rotarian volunteers, community organizations, and hundreds of local residents who donated food. Every can, box, and bag of groceries collected will help stock local food pantries and provide nutritious meals for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
The Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier is proud to partner with organizations like Yavapai Food Neighbors and Community Cupboard to strengthen our community through service. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and helped make this year's food drive another tremendous success.
Together, we are making a difference—one meal, one family, and one act of service at a time.
Rotarians participate in Backpack Giveaway
Prescott-Frontier Rotarians, led by member Yoichi Matsumoto and President-elect Linda Mast, partnered with Alex Hogue and his team at TCC/Verizon for their free backpack giveaway on July 26th.
Hundreds of elementary school students and their families lined up to receive backpacks and school supplies, as well as grilled hot dogs, chips, and fruit for lunch.
The event is the most recent example of Rotarians putting “Service above Self” and will help local students start the year right!
Prescott-Frontier Rotary Supports Teens' Closet
Throughout July, members of the Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier collected new toiletries and undergarments to support Teens' Closet, a Catholic Charities Community Services of ArizonaNorth Star Youth Partnership program serving teens ages 13–19 in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, and surrounding communities.
Teens' Closet provides much more than clothing. Eligible teens can shop in a welcoming, boutique-style setting for new clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and other essentials at no cost. The program also offers encouragement, job readiness assistance, résumé writing, interview preparation, and connections to community resources—helping young people build confidence and work toward a brighter future.
The club's July collection of over 200 items, 2 birthday bags, and over $200 in cash/gift cards will help ensure local teens have access to basic necessities that promote dignity, self-esteem, and success in both school and life. The Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier is proud to partner with organizations like Teens' Closet that make a lasting difference for youth.
On Saturday, August 8th, from 8:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Prescott High School, Rotarians will sort and organize donated food that directly supports local families in need throughout our community.
If you would like to help, you can participate in a neighborhood Green Bag Program and deliver your non-perishable food donations on August 8th. Every non-perishable food item makes a difference for neighbors facing food or financial difficulties.
A tradition spanning over 15 years, Prescott Valley’s Healing Field is a memorable and inspiring tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The display of nearly 3,000 U.S. flags is a tangible expression of mourning, honor, and a very real healing experience, and each flagpole bears information about the victims of the attacks.
All are invited to join the Rotary Club of Prescott-Frontier and other volunteers to set up the flags, or visit the display at the Prescott Valley Town Center, which will run from Thursday, September 10th through Friday, September 18th of 2026. You will be amazed to see this touching experience.

Tribute to Our Gold Star Mothers
Prescott-Frontier Rotary will again honor families who lost loved ones in military service by presenting American Gold Star Mothers in our community with a bouquet of flowers on September 26th, in remembrance of their son or daughter. Special thanks to Rakini Chinery, owner of Allan's Flowers at 600 Miller Valley Road in Prescott, for their generous floral donation.
Since World War I, a banner with a Blue Star on a field of white with a red border has been placed in the window of a family home when a child joins the military. Each Blue Star represents a child in the military in the United States. When a service member passes during military service, a Gold Star is superimposed upon the Blue Star. The Gold Star represents the honor and glory accorded the service member for their supreme sacrifice to their country in offering the last full measure of devotion and pride of the family.
2026 Walk to End Alzheimer's
Come and join the Prescott Rotary Clubs team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, September 26th! You can participate by joining our Prescott-area Rotary team to walk either the Short Walk (½ mile) or the Long Walk (2.2 miles), or by donating to our team.
All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. The Alzheimer's Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The Rotary Club of Prescott‑Frontier meets each Wednesday at noon. Members and guests gather in a comfortable dining room—complete with a private banquet space—where a full lunch menu is served.
